China's leading biochip maker CapitalBio Co., Ltd signed "agreement for joint development of biochip related products" and "agreement for DNA chip's service platform" with US-based Affymetrix Corporation, the first biochip maker in the world in the Great hall of People in Beijing on April 26. The two corporations declared establishment of strategic partnership at the ceremony, which gives birth to an all-round and equal cooperation between China's high-tech enterprises in life science and world giant.

The cooperation will enable the corporations to supplement each other with advantageous resources. The two sides will jointly develop biochip scanner of next generation and chips used to detect virus; they will jointly work out technical standards and share research fruits. The two corporations will strive to develop supplementary products for scientific research and molecular diagnosis in the global market.

The cooperative module that adopts equal principles from technical standards to marketing is rarely seen in China for the time being. such cooperation signifies Chinese biochip maker as well as the rapid-growing biochip industry has become world level.
