　　由中国外语战略研究中心、中国外语教材与教法研究中心、上海外语教育出版社主办的“外教社·词达人杯”全国大学生英语词汇能力大赛高职高专组已于2022年5月28日举办国赛，并圆满落下帷幕。　　On May 28, 2022, the 2nd "SFLEP VocabGo Cup" National 

English Vocabulary Contest, sponsored by the China 

Foreign Language Strategy Research Center, the China 

Foreign Language Teaching Materials and Teaching Methods

Research Center, and the Shanghai Foreign Language 

Education Press, finally came to the end.

　　经过层层角逐，苏州百年职业学院共有两位同学晋级参加国赛，他们分别是来自博雅学院英语专业2101班的钱易凡同学和来自艺术设计学院2021建筑设计的吴雅慧同学。　　Two SCC students, Qian Yifan (majoring in Business 

English in SoLA) and Wu Yahui (majoring in Architecture

Design in SoAD), advanced to the national competition.

　　其中，吴雅慧同学在此比赛中表现优异，荣获国赛三等奖!　　Worth mentioning is that Wu Yahui won the third prize 

in the national competition.

　　在这一个多月以来的训练和备赛中，无论是指导老师还是参赛选手，都做出很大的付出和努力,为学校及个人争得了荣誉。同时体现了百年学子“志诚求索”的学习态度。　During the training, instructors and students put a great

deal of effort to excel in the competition.

　　雅慧同学：老实讲，我也很意外自己能在国赛中取得名次，特别是刚被告知我晋级国赛的时候，我可没底了，觉得自己就是去走个过场。好在在老师的鼓励下，我明白人不要妄自菲薄。其实语言的学习贵在长期积累，特别是要“用”。如果长时间不用，就会忘得一干二净。换言之，就是要复习。我一般会根据艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线的特点来复习和记忆词汇。而词根词缀的辅助记忆能让人在短时间内拓宽词汇量。二者结合，事半功倍，芜湖起飞。不过也得是在有一定的词汇基础的前提下，前期的记忆也确实是枯燥无聊的，但是当量变达到质变时，那种满足感会油然而生。所以，要坚持记忆哦~

Speaking of achieving such good results, actually, I was 

not confident at all, and I never thought I could win 

the competition. Thanks to my teachers’ encouragement, I

memorized new words by using the root and affixes method

and at the same time, I kept reviewing what I already

 memorized. 　　I think the most important thing is to apply what I 

have encountered in daily life and persist in practicing.

　　Interview Excerpts

　　孙珂老师：这是我第一次带学生参赛。由于带赛经验不足，我在初期也是非常紧张。尤其是当知道雅慧拿了省赛特等奖，准备进军国赛的时候，我一直为她捏着一把汗。我既希望她拿奖，又害怕她压力过大。于是我就安慰她说，你已经很棒了，不要妄自菲薄，切记不要落下单词的复习。雅慧这次拿到国赛三等奖离不开她自己的认真与努力。我祝她前途光明，学业有成。

　　一路走来，感谢博雅学院的领导和老师们给予我的帮助与鼓励。我会继续努力！　　This is my first time to instruct a contestant in a 

large competition. Because of my lack of experience, I 

felt nervous at the beginning of the competition. 

Especially, since I knew that Wu Yahui got the grand 

prize in the provincial competition and should start 

preparing for the national one, I kept being worried 

about her. I wished she could get an award, but 

meanwhile I was afraid that she might feel too much 

pressure, so I encouraged her by saying that she was 

already brilliant enough. Just take it easy and keep 

reviewing the words and phrases. The final result of 

winning the third prize in the national competition could

 be attributed to her own diligence during the 

preparation time. I wish her a promising future.

I also want to express my appreciation to SoLA leaders 

and colleagues for their support and encouragement.

　　子安老师：本次比赛能够获得这样的成绩，离不开学生自己的努力。在备赛过程中作为指导老师，我觉得很重要的一点是能够跟学生建立相互信任的关系。作为指导老师，我只是提供方法策略的指导，更重要的是小钱同学在备赛过程中坚持不懈，脚踏实地地完成每一项任务，达到每个阶段的要求，在备赛过程中扎实基础，获得成长。　　What has been achieved in this competition is inseparable

from the efforts of the students themselves. While 

preparing for the competition, as an instructor, I think 

it is very important to be able to establish a 

relationship of mutual trust with students.  All I have

done is to make sure the students have employed 

appropriate methods and strategies. It was Adam, my 

trainee, who had to struggle through the one-month preparation phase, completing each task, meeting the

requirements of each stage, and establishing a solid 

foundation. I think that's the real achievement.
