詹姆斯·欧德简介

　　我是英格兰北部，英国校长联合会成员学校巴特力语法学校国际学生的校长。我的背景是语言教师，自从1997年起我就是巴特力语法学校的现代语言教师。目前，我从事法语以及母语非英语学习者的英语教学。

　　我非常热衷于语言教学，以及其与其他文化的交流的机会。2000年开始巴特力语法学校开始接收来自中国的学生，他们学习A-Level课程，之后进入英国或者是美国的大学学习。三年前我为中国的学生开设的预科课程，他们可以丰富自己的英语语言技能，适应英国不同的教学风格。

　　我们已经于扬州和丹阳建立了很强的联系。与树人学校建立了合作关系。我感觉我对中国学生的学习方法等有了相当的了解。我希望通过成为JAC的成员更进一步了解中国的教育体系。

ABOUT JAMES O'DWYER

I am Head of International Students at Batley Grammar School, an HMC school in the North of England. My background is language teaching and I have been Head of Modern Languages at Batley Grammar School since 1997. I currently teach French, as well as English for speakers of other languages (ESOL).

I am passionate about language teaching, and the opportunities which it provides for building bridges with other cultures. Since 2000 Batley Grammar School has welcomed a steady stream of Chinese students to our school, where they have studied for A levels, before going on to universities in England or the US. Three years ago I set up a Foundation Course for students coming from China, where they could perfect their English Language skills, and learn to adapt to the very different teaching styles of the British education system.

Having already developed strong links in the cities of Yangzhou and Danyang, including a partnership with Shuren School, I feel that I have a sound knowledge of how Chinese pupils and students approach their studies, and look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the Chinese education system through my membership of JAC.
