Student Art Display

The university is currently considering possible locations on campus for displaying paintings and other artwork by students. I think the lobby at the entrance to the student center would be a great location. Since many students pass through the student center every day, artwork displayed in the lobby would be viewed by hundreds of people. Also, because the whole front of the building is made of glass windows, the lobby is filled with natural light. This makes it perfect for displaying artwork, which should have plenty of light to be seen and appreciated.

In the letter, the student proposes to put the artworks in the lobby at the entrance to the student center, because the center has many students and is full of natural light. But the girl in the conversation doesn ’ t agree with it. The center is always crowded with people. It ’ s hard to appreciate the artworks with so many people around. For the second point about natural light, she thinks it ’ s not very good. Bus Service Elimination Planned

The university has decided to discontinue its free bus service for students. The reason given for this decision is that few students ride the buses and the buses are expensive to operate. Currently, the buses run from the center of campus past university buildings and through some of the neighborhoods surrounding the campus. The money saved by eliminating the bus service will be used to expand the overcrowded student parking lots.

Man:I don’t like the university’s plan.

Man:I see your point. But I think the problem is the route’s out-of-date. It only goes through the neighborhoods that’ve gotten too expensive for students to live in. It’s ridiculous that they haven’t already changed the route - you know, so it goes where most off-campus students live now. I bet if they did that, they’d get plenty of students riding those buses.

Man:That’s the other part I don’t like, actually. Cutting back the bus service and adding parking’s just gonna encourage more students to drive on campus. And that’ll just add to the noise around campus and create more traffic…and that’ll increase the need for more parking spaces.

Man:Right. And the university should make it easier to do that, not harder.

BUT 如果想要满分的同学,这样的答题方法大错特错!

仔细分析之后我们会发现:

1. 没有阅读的理由,考生直接表达听力中主角对于阅读内容的态度。

关于这一点,TASK3对于大家的要求也是主要陈述听力内容

请记住!阅读部分说不说理由不会你的分数造成本质影响,

BUT 阅读没有说理由,而听力也没能说出太多细节,导致最后空白太长时间,一定会对分数造成本质影响!!

2. 考生做到了大量的词汇以及语法结构的转换,非常符合language use的要求。

比如他用了course代替route而且他说the bus goes to the wrong neighborhood所以请大家记住!屏幕上给大家的内容,一定要转述,听力的部分能转多少转多少。

3. 考生几乎说出来听力中的主角全部内容,连最后一句”the university should make it easier to do that, not harder” 都转述出来了。

所以,想拿满分的同学请注意!

主角的每句话,都很重要,都值得记笔记!!!

托福口语TASK3最强答题攻略

首先来看阅读材料部分。阅读部分的时长为45秒,内容一般分为两种:1.School Announcement 学校通知 (较常考):学校会发布一个通知,通知学生某项决议,然后,给出两个理由。2.Student Proposal 学生提议:一名学生,会因为学校目前存在的某个问题,或者认为学校的某项决定影响了自己的利益,写的一封反对信或者建议信。

如何在短短的45秒内高效提取信息呢?可以遵循以下三步:

1.看到阅读材料,首先记标题,然后到正文部分去记两个要点。

2.Task3的阅读部分,一般第一句话是背景信息,可以直接略过。在文章第三行的位置,开始寻找第一个观点。要特别注意强转折或顺承的信号词,比如however, but, also, yet, still,这些词后面容易出观点。

3.Task3 的两个点,绝大多数情况,都在阅读材料的中后部,所以为了节约时间,可以尝试跳读。

建议答题模板:

In the letter ,the student suggests the University to ……

—Firstly, he claims that……

—Secondly, he says……

(注:如果文章是学校通知,模板的第一句话应为:The university is planning to ……because原因1)……and also 原因2)……)

接下来我们看看听力材料部分。听力对话的时长90秒,听力中会出现一男一女两个人,就阅读中所说的事情或者观点,提出自己的想法。两人中会有一个人主说,另一个人应和。所以我们在记笔记时,应重点记一唱一和中‘唱’的那个人的观点。

听力技巧:

1. 需要迅速判断主说人后,敲定口语表达过程中的人称(迅速判断He /She ,并在草稿纸上标注出来,以防讲的时候混淆)

2. 率先表达自己同意或反对的观点,并解释的那个人,就是主说人,一般不会超过前三句。

3. 句子中尽量不记主语,要记动词和宾语,因为动词体现文章逻辑,影响表达流畅性。

4. 60s的口语表达时间,建议的黄金分配为:reading 20s, Listening 40s(可上下浮动5-10s)。如果听力能力欠缺,可以多展开阅读部分信息。

建议答题模板:

The student in the conversation strongly opposes the proposal for two reasons.

First, she says that……

Second, she argues that……

托福口语Task3高分模版

1、“The school has implemented a new policy that ... due to ... . And the man/woman holds a positive/negative view towards the announcement.
