Some people think that environmentalproblems are too big for individuals to deal with.Others,however,think that each individual should take some actions.Discuss both views and give your own opinion。

It is true that our tiny individual actions often seem insignificantcompared to the scale and complexity of global environmental problems such as pollution,deforestation and depletion of natural resources.But that does not relieve our duty as individuals to do as much as we can to deal with these problems。

Individual actions,small as they may be,can sometimes prove more effective than we realize.We can avoid driving the car,and take public transit,walk,or bicycle instead.This will reduce the use of fossil fuels and cut pollution.Saving energy at home,like turning on the air conditioner only when we have to,or turning water heater down a few degrees,is also ultimately good for the environment.Individual actions can also turn into united powers when,for example,the whole neighborhood is mobilized to participate in a local campaignto oppose environmentally damaging policies。

There are,however,obstacles that stand in the way of individual action towards environmental conservation.The first obstacle is the lack of professional knowledge needed to cope with serious environmental issues like soil erosion and salinity,which requires a significant amount of investigation and research.Another obstacle which makes individual action almost impossible is when an environmental emergency or accident happens,e.g.an oil spill or a nuclear leakage near the border line,which would necessitategovernment engagement or even international coordination。

So,in conclusion,when it comes to environmental problems,individual actions are indispensable in the problem solving process.But the most pressing and complicatedproblems go far beyond an individual’s capability and so require the concerted effort of the government as well as the global community。

Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors.“Why should I care while others don’t care?”Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work.Furthermore,people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.

Although media promotes environmental awareness,good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life.Consequently,they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing.Wrong as it is,such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.

However,our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution.People learn the harms of undegradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes.Laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags.Companies are continuely replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds.Scientists have developed more effective technologies in waste treatment.As time goes by,more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.

To sum up,people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources,sense of responsibility,or efforts.But the world will not turn into a“throw away”society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.

The past decades have witnessed the expansion of human population,which results in the ever-growing requirement for various products such as food,clothing.Not only does this cause the decrease of natural resources,but also contributes to environmental deterioration.An example of this is that people cut down more trees for disposable chopsticks and furniture,leading to deforestation in many areas.This further causes some problems like soil,erosion,droughts and change in temperature.

Another reason is that people lack environmental awareness.Otherwise,they would not live a throw-away life and cause some avoidable waste or pollution.A large number of people have not yet realized the importance of recycling,nor are they conscious of the households appliances can end up in landfill sites and these non-biodegradable products can have a destructive effect on the environment.

To cope with this problem,governments should firstly try to raise public's awareness for environmental protection and recycling.Besides,they should also invest heavily in some renewable energy resources such as nuclear,solar or wind energy.Meanwhile,ordinary people should make an effort to consume less and recycle more and classify rubbish in order to reduce the damage of waste.

To sum up,the increase of world population and insufficient environmental consciousness are associated with the issue stated.And to combat with it,every member in the society should take actions.
