On account of my birth place being in the northern part of China, the differences among the four seasons are quite obvious. Every season has its own charming features and my favorite season is the Autumn.

Autumn is always considered to begin in the late August and end in the beginning of November. It is a season of harvest. At that time, the fruits become ripe and crops are full of grains. In ancient times, Autumn is a season for people to celebrate for their hard work over the year and the blessing of the God about their crops. Although the celebrating atmosphere in modern city is not thick as that in the old times, the change of landscape and the delicious seafood is also like a carnival for me.

When Autumn comes, the leaves of gingko turn into yellow and those of maple red. I always climb Huong Son in the late October to see the red maple leaves carpeting the whole mountain, which is extremely spectacular. Besides, the enjoyment of seafood is something you’ll regret for missing it. Three or four crabs, a bottle of ginner tea, vinegar and tools to separate crabs into pieces are the best match for idling time.

In spite of the enjoyment of vision and gustation, another reason why the Autumn becomes my favorite season it that it is a symbol of the outcomes of people’s work. Although everyone will gain something through their hard work, some people might gain nothing because they don’t want to put lots of time and energy in what they are doing but the awareness of success exists in their minds.

Therefore, the only thing they are willing to make efforts to do is to wish the God of luckiness will bless them for their success. But the God of luckiness never stands by those people. If you work hard, you’ll gain a lot in the Autumn of your life. If you choose to idle, then nothing will come to your side.

My favorite season in Canada is summer. The real summer in Canada lasts only two months, July and August. During these two months, the temperature climbs above 20 and it's always sunny. The trees become green again and the whole city is full of various flowers. Day time is longer and night time is shorter. Most time we have sunlight until 10 in the evening.

The reason that I like summer is because summer time is the best season for outdoor activities. I love hiking, jogging, and biking. I can go to national parks or city parks easily in summer. Summer gives me so much fun.

Just like what I've said, I love hiking, jogging, and biking in summer. I still remember I went to different national parks last summer for hiking. I saw beautiful lakes and mountains. I even encountered a bear looking for food, which was pretty amazing experience.

Weather may affect people' choice of activities. It's warm outside in summer, so more people will choose outdoor activities. We always have more music festivals or food festivals in summer. Winter is super cold in Canada. People would like to stay home instead of going outside.

My favourite season in England is winter. A typical English winter would last around 4 or 5 months between November and March, but when I say that I like the winter, I’m really thinking about the coldest month or two each year.

During those really wintry months, the temperature drops below zero and it often snows. Over the last few years we’ve had periods of quite heavy snowfall, to the extent that roads have been blocked and schools have had to close. Last winter I remember looking out of the window one morning and seeing everything covered in a layer of white.

Obviously the snow is what differentiates winter from the other seasons, but when it doesn’t snow there isn’t much difference between winter, autumn and spring; winter is just a bit colder.

The reason I’ve chosen winter as my favourite season is because I like the snow. I live near the countryside, and the landscape looks beautiful when everything is covered in white. We also celebrate Christmas and New Year in the winter, and these are my favourite festivals.
