五月的换题季马上就要来啦，《买到开心的东西》作为1-4月口语话题的新题，将会保留到下个季度的题库中，所以大家得提前准备喽。这道实物类话题在雅思口语中不算难，属于比较大众化的话题，正是因为话题简单考官听了太多千篇一律的思路，想要冲刺高分的童鞋更需要在思路和技巧上取胜才行。

虽然实物类话题比较注重细节描述和词汇量，不过这这道题可扩展的思路比较广，买到的东西可以是玩具、服饰以及各种用品，这样一来是不是和1-4月Part2话题中的《童年玩具》《有用的书》等类似话题可以串联起来，甚至词汇和语法都可以共用。

Im going to talk about a washing machine that I felt pleased about.My mother is a housewife and she does a lot for all of us. She is like a comfortable shadow in our life on a hot summer day. We quite often forget to tell her how much we love her and sometimes we do not even thank her for things she does. But without her, our life would simply be a disaster. After I started my job, I had a plan to buy her something. I saved some money each month and then after a few months, I decided to buy her a washing machine so that she no longer needs to do her laundry manually. I thought that would save her from some tedious weekly works and would allow her to enjoy more leisure hours.

One day I went to a large LG showroom and selected a medium-size washing machine. It was a bit expensive for me to afford at that time but I bought it anyway. After I reached home with this washing machine and surprised everybody with this sudden commodity, I realised how exhilarating it is to be able to make others happy. My mother was very excited that I astounded her this way. She asked me to teach her how to operate it and then cooked some special dishes at night to make the event memorable. This was probably something she wished to own and when I bought it for her, she was very amazed... She was also worried that I had to spend a large sum of money to buy it, but I told her that it is something I always planned to do with my salary.

After that, I have bought many products and electronic gadgets for me or for others, but being able to surprise my mother with my first earned salary was something very special. The washing machine I bought worked fine for more than 5 years and it was then replaced with a newer one. However, my memory regarding this first washing machine at our home was something I will never forget.

# How often do people in your country go shopping?That really depends on the person but girls and women do it more frequently than boys and men. My sister often purchases things on the internet while my mother likes to visit her friends at the mall on weekends for visiting and shopping. My father and I do very little shopping and when we do its usually online but my father must go to the shopping mall to buy his clothes because his size is very big and needs to try on the clothing before he purchases it.

# Why is online shopping popular? Online shopping is so popular because it saves you much time and a lot of money. Just simply click onto your favorite online venue and then you begin to get your shopping started. Using reliable shops can ease the burden of returning things that dont look like the pictures in the advertisement or dont meet your specifications.

# How should sellers set prices for their products?Im not an expert in this area, but I guess it depends on the quality of the product, as long as the items price and quality is matching. Then the price should be easy to be set.

# Do you think online shopping will replace shopping in stores?Not in my lifetime. Online shopping is great for some simple inexpensive things to be delivered to your house like DVDs, books, multitudes of grocery items and healthcare products etc., but this will not replace the habits of window shopping, viewing movies at the cinemas there, and all of the talking you do with your friends while you are there. These social gathering places cant be replaced by online shopping.
