I would argue in this essay that It is unreasonable to link whether or not one should know about mathematics with business achievements.

Before assessing what really dictates business success, I might have to say that this is to no avail. A reasonable evaluation should be determined by the fact that every definition in it is enough clarified and there should be a set of criteria to measure the degrees of the holistic system. However, the claim made by this prompt is too obscured to meet this requirement. The expression to succeed in business is an overgeneralization. What kind of business is discussed in this topic? I admit that all types of businesses share some points, but to set up a relationship between a specific factor and the results truly needs to have a sense of differentiation; we can never figure out what is really essential to a commercial activity or an enterprise for its own sake before knowing what it is really about. Worse yet, the word success is also a relative definition, since no matter what condition a business is in, it may at least have some characteristics that are more successful than others. That means, to some extent, a business can be considered successful anyway if there isnt a scheme in place to make an objective judgment. Such is the vagueness of the utterance made by the topic that I may hardly agree with it.

Another flaw in this argument is that it tries to bridge the correlation between business achievements and how mathematical the founder is. The truth is, however, that no clue indicates a so-called necessary link between mathematics and businesses. What truly determines the success in commercial structures is some more concrete factors like to set up clear commercial goals, to make deep analyses about the market and customer demands, or something more fundamental such as to find out what products or services will be sold to consumers. Even if there is a need to keep a balance between the revenues and costs, and even if that requires a certain degree of mathematical ability, this competence is still not considered a must to all the founders; entrepreneurs can ask from those who are more professional in this areaan accountant, analyst or even a consultant companyto do these jobs. Therefore, there is no connection between ones own mathematical knowledge and the chance for that person to succeed in business.

In conclusion, it is the vagueness of the expressions and irrational correlation in this argument that compel me to challenge the claim that one knowing mathematic is a decisive element of business success.
