雅思口语素材：Ive always wanted to visit a historical city with lots of traditional culture. And Xian, the capital city of Shaanxi province, seems to the ideal place. The city used to be the capital of ancient China in many dynasties. There are countless historical sites and unique buildings in Xian. I have watched a few documentaries about it on TV and feel fascinated by everything about the place.

Last year, after I finished the college entrance examination, my parents surprised me with plane tickets to Xian. They knew I had always been curious about this city and decided to give me a family trip to Xian as a high school graduation gift. I was really thankful for them and extremely excited about the trip.

However, something urgent came up with my fathers company which required him to deal with immediately. He had to go to Shanghai for a negotiation. He didnt want my mother and I to cancel the trip because of him and insisted that we go without him. But we thought the trip wouldnt be the same if we couldnt go together, so we made the decision to postpone it until my father came back from his business trip.

At first, I felt quite sad and a bit disappointed about not being able to go. Fortunately, my father managed to take care of the problem with his job, and we went to Xian and had a blast there.
