The bar chart shows the top ten producers and consumers of electricity, and how much electricity they produced and consumed in 2014 (measured in billion kilowatts an hour).

Approximately 5, 400 and 4, 100 bilion kWh of electricity was produced by China and the US respectively, and their consumption levels were just sightly less than their production levels. Russia，Japan and India ranked third, fourth, and fifth. producing between 1060 to 870 billion kWh, and consuming approximately 1040 to 700 bilion kWh electricity.

The other five countries, Canada, France, Brazil，Germany and the Republic of Korea, had produced and used significantly less electricity, ranging from approximately 620 to around 450 billion kWh. It is interesting to note that Germany was the only country to consume more electricity than it produced using about 60 billion kwh electricity more than it generated.

To summarise, it is clear that China and the US were the largest producers and consumers of electricity in 2014. In addition, while other nations could meet their electricity demands, with a small surplus, Germany however had not produced sufficient electricity to meet its demands.
